The Bambang Sunshine Project is registered in the Philippines as Philippine Disabled Children Project. Florencia C. Kingscote founded the project in 1998, with the help of members of the former International Scout and Guide Club.

The charity has been created to support the careers and provide disabled children with the necessary resources to enjoy a happier and more meaningful life.

The U.K. Committee raises funds for use by the Partner Committee in Bambang. At present, the project is helping 60 children requiring a wide range of support from basic food and medical supplies to wheelchairs, medical operations and specialist teaching.

The existence of the Bambang Sunshine Project has created awareness on the plight of children with disabilities within the community. The stigma of having a child with a disability has diminished and disabled children are no longer hidden away. The project has provided the families of disabled children the support they need. Parents meet once a month where they can learn new skills while their children can socialize and be part of a group where they feel they belong.

The Bambang Sunshine Project hopes to accommodate more children waiting to be included as beneficiaries. Committee members dream that one day the project will spread to other towns in Nueva Vizcaya and beyond. It is with a humble heart that founder Florencia wants to reach overseas workers, particularly those from Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, to share their blessings and extend their help to the children with disabilities.
