JULY 9, 2006 Sunday marked the 56th year of GMA 7, the pioneering and one of the largest television networks in the Philippines. Held at the World Trade Center (WTC) in Pasay City, the event drew fans to the venue as early as 3:00 am. They patiently waited until the gates opened at 8:00 am.

The Kapuso network treated viewers at home and those who thronged the gigantic venue by giving away thousands of cash prizes and a spectacular show rolled into one special event. The network’s Sunday noontime show SOP, held simultaneously at the WTC, presented its “Pasiklaban” battle of the bands, the winners of which were determined by text vote. The afternoon gossip program, S Files featured live interviews with controversial stars. The event culminated in an all-star Fantastic 56th Anniversary Special.

ONE PHILIPPINES was there to witness the day-long festivities which lasted until midnight and captured some of the event’s best moments. Say cheese y’all!?
