DOING
a movie with Aga Muhlach is a dream come true for
former child actress Angelica Panganiban, who turns
21 on November 4.
When
she was first told by Star Cinema about the movie
two years ago, she thought it was joke. Even during
the story conference for A Love Story, Angelica
still didn’t believe that the project was
pushing through. She only believed it when she finally
arrived on the set on their first shooting day and
the cameras started rolling.
The
movie also reunites Angelica with Maricel Soriano,
who played Angelica’s mother in the movie
Separada and her sister in the TV series, Vietnam
Rose. Now they play rivals for the love of one man.
“Whenever
I work with Mama (that’s how she calls Maricel),
I always feel so grateful. We had a very good working
relationship when we did Vietnam Rose. And even
with our past movies before, maganda na talaga ang
samahan namin ni Mama,” says Angelica.
“Mama
is like an on and off button. She can be your mother.
You can tell her stories. She wants you to tell
her anything and everything about yourself, about
your life, even your problems. As a daughter, whenever
I have a misunderstanding with my real life mom,
I would ask for her advice on what I should do.
How would I say sorry to my mom? Then she would
tell me, ‘Huwag ganoon anak.’ Lagi niya
akong tinuturuan,” she explains.
She
even consults her Mama Maricel about her lovelife.
“She likes it when you ask her for advice.
Curious siya on what is happening in your life.”
