Marami
na namang Noranians ang kikiligin dahil ang kanilang
kinagigiliwang superstar ay meron na namang concert
sa Seattle on April 13, 2007 at the Beneroya Hall
starting at 7:30 p.m. I am sure this will be another
blockbuster event. Patok na naman. In today’s
lingo, sigurado na namang hataw ito sa takilya.
Sa muling pagkakataon, magkakasama si Nora ang
kanyang
reel love team na si Tirso Cruz III, better known
as Pip. |
Pip
gained popularity when he teamed up with Nora Aunor
to form the legendary Guy and Pip love team. He
was given the titles “Box Office King of
Philippine Movies” in 1970, “King of
Stars” in 1971, and “Best Actor” in
And God Smiled at Me at the 3rd Quezon City Film
Festival in 1972.
His versatility as an actor also extended to television where he was recognized
as Best Actor four times in a row, from 1994 to 1996, for his role in the
top-rated television soap opera, Valiente. In the year 2000, his first international
movie, The Debut screened in the United States and garnered good reviews
from international movie critics.
So for all who miss not just Guy but Guy and Pip together, you should not
miss this concert. Nora’s children, Ian de Leon and Kiko de Leon, will
be part of the show. Almost three years hindi nikita ni Nora ang kanyang
mga anak at apo mula nang mamalagi ang superstar sa America. Nagkaroon si
Nora ng series of back to back concerts with Kuh Ledesma hanggang sa nasangkot
siya sa problema na alam na nating lahat. I am sure Nora will give her best
in this concert because this will be her last chance to prove that she wants
to begin a new life.
The Seattle show on April 13 at the Beneroya Hall kicks off Nora’s
U.S. concert tour entitled The Superstar … In Concert. She stops in
New Jersey where she’ll perform at the Step by Step Dance Sport Studio.
Tirso Cruz has to go back to the Philippines because of his new GMA teleserye,
Lupin, but he will join the group again in July or August. Nora and her children,
Ian and Kiko, will proceed to Union City for a concert at Logan’s High
School on May 5. She is also scheduled at the Plaza Hotel in Las Vegas on
May 13; the Beverly Garland Hotel in Los Angeles, California on May 19; and
the Sycuan Casino in San Diego, California on June 8. With such an extended
run, the concert tour will surely give Nora some great time to spend with
Ian and Kiko.
Goodbye
Nanay Vevencia
Indeed parting is such sweet sorrow especially when you know that a well loved
mother, grandmother, and “nanay” to everyone is on her final journey
to join the Almighty. That’s how everybody felt at the funeral of Vevencia
Botor Barandon. She will surely leave a vacuum in the hearts of all who hold
her dear. Mama or Nanay Evencia passed away on March 3, 2007 at the age of
78. She is survived by her children Luis, Antonio, Jose Errol, Mary June, Tomas
and wife Josefina, Silvino and wife Alejandrina, Felicidad and husband Herson,
Celeste and husband Luis, 22 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
